Posted on Tuesday, March 19, 2024

The Ivoclar Group, a leading international supplier of integrated solutions for high-quality dental applications, offering a comprehensive product and systems portfolio for dentists, dental technicians and dental hygienists, has been fulfilling the requirements of dental professionals from around the world with its IPS e.max® family of products for almost 20 years. The IPS e.max brand from Ivoclar combines high quality with esthetics and longevity. Now, the Liechtenstein-based company is pleased to announce the strengthening of its partnership with vhf camfacture AG.

The IPS e.max® Authorized Milling Partner label is a quality seal that ensures a validated manufacturing process in which the materials and machines are optimally coordinated so that patients can be assured of receiving restorations of the highest quality and precision. As from the vhf DENTALCAM software update 8.09, which will become available in mid-March 2024, IPS e.max® CAD for PrograMill will be approved for producing crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers and 3-unit bridges up to the second premolars in the N4+ machine.

Ivoclar and vhf – a holistic partnership

The long-standing partnership between the two companies was reinforced in February 2023 by a cooperation agreement involving the Ivotion Denture System. In the meantime, the R5, K5/K5+ and E5 machines have been approved for the system. The working relationship centres on the Ivotion disc for the fabrication of complete dentures, which comprises a tooth and denture base material.

This successful partnership will be continuously developed on the basis of the validated, clinically proven IPS e.max® CAD lithium disilicate ceramic.

IPS e.max® CAD – the world’s best-selling glass-ceramic

For almost 20 years, the IPS e.max® CAD lithium disilicate ceramic has been a firm favourite among dental technicians and dentists. The reason is quite simple: It is a clinically proven, high-strength glass-ceramic material featuring a strength of 530 MPa , which due to its lifelike colour and excellent optical properties achieves impressive results. The blocks are wet milled and then the restorations are crystallized in a Programat furnace. The restorations are individually characterized with IPS Ivocolor or IPS e.max® CAD Crystall./materials. IPS e.max® CAD comes in four levels of translucency (HT, MT, LT, MO) and as Impulse blocks. Depending on the translucency level and block size, IPS e.max® CAD is available in A-D and/or Bleach BL shades.
